About the Festival
The fourth annual International Festival will be held on October 5, 2014 at Central Park in Davis.
This festival is put on by the International House Davis with the assistance of the University of California, Davis, and the City of Davis to promote unity in diversity in the community.
We invite cultures from all over to come together for a day and participate in various festivities such as seeing what the entertainment stage has to offer, partaking in arts and crafts, sampling food from all over the world at our ethnic food vendors and many more activities. The International Festival offers fun for the whole family at no cost. All we ask of you is to have fun and experience the world on this special day!
In 2011, I-House held its first “International Festival” at the Veterans Memorial Center in Davis. In 2012, several thousand enthusiastic participants attended the International Festival, and we expect to have a capacity crowd this year at our third International Festival.
This year, the International Festival is going zero-waste!
We will be diverting as much waste as possible from landfills through sorting stations located throughout Central Park. We also asks that guests use a pack-in, pack-out policy in which what is brought in is also taken back out.
Thank you for helping us make the International Festival an environmentally and family friendly event!
Here are a few quotes from local media outlets!
“Visitors will be kept busy going from food vendors to arts and crafts vendors and enjoying the live music and performers in both the multipurpose room and children’s events in the theater!”ーDavis Enterprise
“Robert Blake, an International House Board member as well as a Spanish professor at UC Davis, told that we’ve got 28 country tables set up and I’d estimate that about 70 percent of them are run solely by international student associations from the university! ” ーThe California Aggie (UC Davis newspaper)
